Claire + Jack | Film Anniversary Session

Claire + Jack are so adorably, wildly, sweetly in love…

and they have been since they met. The two of them reached out to me in 2020 for their engagement photos which naturally led to photographing their wedding as well. Our first consult was actually just me and Claire geeking out over film photography and all things analog. I think we talked on the phone for two hours.

Their wedding in 2021 was the first time I was actually asked to shoot film at a wedding and I was ecstatic. Their big day was so beautiful and the way that Claire and Jack love each other is truly so special. It was perfect. So of course two years later, when I was asked to photograph their anniversary, I said “duh.”

While I was traveling through Oregon for my 2023 wedding season, the last session on my list before heading back to Colorado was to photograph these two. I set out to Mt. Hood and met them at the Mirror Lakes trailhead so we could enjoy a hike and some catch up time before the photos started. We didn’t skip a beat.

Once we got to the lake, naturally I was shooting film and digital, snapping away in the warm summer golden hour. As the sun dipped below the trees, we made our way back to the parking lot and slowly said our goodbyes. The hours seemingly flew right by.

There are so many reasons why I love anniversary sessions - I love catching up with my clients, I love celebrating what your relationship has grown into throughout marriage, and I truly believe that we should be celebrating milestones beyond just having babies (although those are also so important). But selfishly, I love getting to create together again.

It is such an honor reuniting with my clients time and time again and getting to make some photo magic.
